Trail Descriptions

Trail #1: Fisher Lake
Fisher Lake, a destination trail, is a tight long trail with large rocks, deep mud and a beautiful Lake. Be sure to pack your fishing pole. There is one real tough challenging spot on the way out with large rocks and a steep incline which seems to get tougher every year. Most rigs will need the hook some will get some air. Great viewing area, for some exciting Kodak moments. This trail is rated a 4. A winch & lockers are helpful.

Trail #2: Bowman Lakes
This trail is rocky & has tight switchbacks. Rigs with short narrow wheel bases will do well. Large loose rocks, sheer cliffs and drop offs give this trail a high pucker factor. Trail ends at twin lakes. Difficulty rated 3. I have seen a stock TJ make this run with good use of his skid plates.

Trail #3: Alpine Lake
This is a high altitude rocky trail with scenic vistas. Past Albicautis Lake. Bring your camera. Difficulty rated 3.

Trail #4: Granite Mine Trail
Trail travels from Granite mine passed Big Racetrack Lake, Red Lion mine and on to Georgetown Lake. We can stop at the Sweet Palace for some sweets before returning to camp. Difficulty rated 3.

Trail #5: Gold Creek Lakes
This Trail has large boulders and tight turns through the Forest. It is a destination trail to beautiful Gold Creek Lakes. Near Rainbow Lake. Difficulty rated 3.

Trail #6: Stewart Lake
A short trip from camp for those who wish an easy and relaxing day of wheeling. Bring your lawn chairs and relax at pristine Steward Lake. Difficulty rated 2.

Trail #7: Thompson Lake
A technical body twisting trail, it will give your power steering box a work out. Large rocks, tight turns and off camber ruts makes this trail a fun one. Wildlife abounds so be careful while driving! Having lunch at this scenic lake will give some of us time to dunk a worm. Bring your pole. Trail rated 3.

Trail # 8: Altoona Lakes
Great run passing through historic Maxville and climbing up into the Deerlodge Basin to the beautiful Altoona Lakes. Rated 3

Trail # 9: Medicine Lake

Trail #10: Overnighter Trail
This is an overnight trip. Camp out under the stars. Must bring your own equipment, tent, sleeping bag etc. Destination to be announced.

Trail # 11: Caruthers Lake
High mountain lake nestled between Mountain Ben Lake, Goat Lake, Little Goat Lake and Elliot Lake. This lake is deep in the Dempsey Basin with a steep climb up to the lake, enjoy.

Trail Level Rating

Difficulty 1: Passable by stock and 2WD vehicles, improved dirt, gravel etc.

Difficulty 2: Scenic, touring trail ride; four wheel drive required occasionally, some mud holes or rocks that would stop most other vehicles are traveled easily in 4WD.

Difficulty 3: For novice and experienced drivers alike; the most fun four wheeling you can expect to have in a stock four wheeler; low range may be required often; vehicle damage is a possibility.

Difficulty 4: Not advisable for novice drivers; potentially dangerous situations; maximum ground clearance, low- est gears, and minimum tire size of 33 inches required; lockers, limited slips, winches, and jacks advised due to moderate to large rocks and obstacles, vehicle damage is likely. Full size vehicles limited to specific trails at this rating.
